Supervision

Supervision is about support.

The BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) states that ethically, every counsellor needs supervision; this provides a safe and confidential space to feel supported and explore with the supervisor their case loads. The BACP Information Sheet (S2) explains that:

The supervisor can ensure that the counsellor is addressing the needs of the client, can monitor the relationship between the counsellor and client to maximise the therapeutic effectiveness of the relationship, and ensure that ethical standards are adhered to throughout the counselling process.”

Trainee Counsellors, and others needing to understand the role of Supervision, can be assured that in addition to being a BACP Accredited Supervisor,I have 15 years experience working with supervisees from a diverse range of organisations, voluntary bodies and private practice.
